Ksenia Karelina is a Russian-American woman who has been arrested and charged with treason by the Russian government.[1][2] The FSB is accusing Karelina of taking part in “public actions to support the Kyiv regime.”[3] She is facing life in prison as a result.[4]
Early life
[edit]Karelina was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia.[5] Karelina emigrated to the United States in 2012 and became a citizen in 2021.[6] She previously resided in Los Angeles.
Arrest
[edit]Karelina was arrested in early 2024, in Yekaterinburg. Charged with Treason by the Russian government for sending $51.80 to Razom for Ukraine, a New York City-based nonprofit organization that sends assistance to Ukraine, she admitted guilt on August 7, 2024.[7] She is currently awaiting sentencing.
